There is a huge problem in Omaha relating to roofs.  Roof replacement is very costly, and many older homeowners do not have insurance to cover replacement. When a roof goes, the house is in serious jeopardy of deteriorating as well.

Unfortunately, the City is no longer providing services for roofs due to the extreme cost of labor and material. Therefore, there is no organization in Omaha that is currently helping to repair/replace roofs free of charge to its clients.

However, in a recent development, our organization has been lucky enough to receive a grant from the Gary & Mary West Foundation. This has allowed Rebuilding Together Omaha to begin the first steps to tackling Omaha’s roof issues.

With this grant funding we have helped 10 homeowners with their roof troubles and plan to work on ways to provide for more members in the community.

It is a great start that we hope is only the beginning in an effort to solve such a large problem.
